FAQ

Questions, answered gently

A few things families often ask before we begin. Don't see your question? Just reach out.

What is a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS)? +

An NCS is a trained professional who specializes in the care of newborns, typically through the first few months. I focus on feeding, sleep, soothing, and healthy routines — while educating and reassuring parents so you feel confident caring for your baby on your own.

How is an NCS different from a night nanny or a doula? +

A postpartum doula focuses largely on the parents' recovery and wellbeing, and a general night nanny provides overnight childcare. An NCS specializes specifically in evidence-based newborn care and building healthy sleep and feeding foundations for your baby — with parent education woven throughout.

When should I book? +

Many families reach out during the second or third trimester to secure dates, but I welcome inquiries at any point — including after your baby has already arrived. It’s never too late to ask for support.

Do you offer overnight support? +

Yes. Overnight care lets you rest while I handle feeds, diaper changes, and settling, and gently shape healthy sleep habits over time. You wake up more rested and ready for the day.

Can you support both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding families? +

Absolutely. I support all feeding choices and work alongside your goals — whether that’s breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, or a combination — with no judgment.

Do you work with twins or multiples? +

Yes — I have hands-on experience caring for twins and can help multiples families build routines that make the early days feel far more manageable.

What areas do you serve? +

I’m based in Renton, WA and serve the greater Seattle area. I’m also available to travel with families for trips, relocations, or extended stays.

How do we get started? +

Reach out through the contact page for a free consultation. We’ll talk about your family’s needs, your hopes for this season, and find the right kind of support together.
